You don’t need your firearms licence to use the club’s rifles or air rifles/pistols.

You do need your firearms licence if you want to shoot and own pistols and own rifles (as well as purchase your own amunition).

Here are the steps to get your non-restricted licence (rifles).

  1. Take the Canadian Firearms Safety Course – https://www.fedecp.com/findacourse/what-do-you-want-to-do/shooting-sports/
  2. Fill out Form 5592 – Application for a Possession and Acquisition Licence from the RCMP website and send it in. – https://www.rcmp-grc.gc.ca/en/firearms/firearms-forms#f1

Here are the steps to get your restricted licence (pistols and restricted firearms).

  2. Take the  Canadian Restricted Firearms Safety Course – https://www.fqtir.qc.ca/en/become-a-target-shooter/crfsc/
  3. Fill out Form 5592 – Application for a Possession and Acquisition Licence from the RCMP website – https://www.rcmp-grc.gc.ca/en/firearms/firearms-forms#f1
  4. Additionally you will need Form SQ-3007 from the SÛRETÉ DU QUÉBEC – https://www.sq.gouv.qc.ca/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/in-person-filing-for-firearms-licence.pdf
  5. Once you have applied for your restricted licence and joined a club, you will need to take your bill 9 course – https://www.fqtir.qc.ca/en/become-a-target-shooter/bill-9/
